Helping Your Dental Implant Actually “Stick”
When you get a dental implant, the real magic happens in the early days of recovery. You’re basically waiting for your jawbone to wrap itself around a piece of titanium. We wanted to make that process faster and less stressful, so we built a PBM wand you can use right at home. It uses Near-Infrared (NIR) light. Think of it as a way to send energy deep past your gums to where the bone and the implant meet.
How it actually works
Here is the simple version: the light hits the “power plants” in your cells (the mitochondria) and tells them to get to work. This cranks up the energy production in your cells, which signals your bone-building cells to start multiplying. The result? Your bone grows around the implant a lot quicker. We spent a lot of time picking the exact wavelength so the light slides right through the surface tissue without heating it up. No burns, just energy going exactly where it’s needed.
The gear
We designed this wand to be safe and easy. It runs on low-voltage power, so you aren’t dealing with anything scary in your bathroom. Instead of a big, messy bulb, we used a tight array of LEDs. This keeps the beam focused. When you use it, just hold it steady against your gum line. The trick is the power density. If the device isn’t dialed in perfectly, the light won’t go deep enough to reach the bone, and you’re basically just giving your gums a light show.
The trade-off
Let’s be honest: a home device isn’t a surgical laser. You don’t have the raw power of a clinic-grade machine. But you get something else—convenience. You can do this in your pajamas. Because the power is lower, you have to be patient. You can’t just zap it for five seconds and call it a day. You’ve got to stick to the timer. If you cut it short, the bone doesn’t get the signal to grow. But don’t go overboard either, or you might irritate your gums.
